Master the foundation of movie making by working on a film in the new LINX Movie Studio. On-site shooting gets blended with green-screen technology as campers work off a shooting script developed specifically for them. As a team, campers use their creativity to fashion this script into a complete project.
At the camera campers learn the 5 C's of cinematography, how to use camera filters, and the best techniques to capture professional lighting and sound. At the end of this two-week session, campers can confidently embark on their own projects during the school year before returning again to train some more.
To make their large projects truly epic, stories have been fashioned like giant mad libs, but instead of missing words, there are missing scenes. This allows the movie makers to really delve into the production process and not get bogged down by all the post-production a movie requires. These movie makers do learn about post production, assembling scenes and effects for their scenes, but the rest of the project is waiting and ready to go.
Movie Making 2.0 is a two-week program. Each day includes four movie making intensives .Three are at our studios on Linden St., one is on-site at Dana. Lunch and bonus period are at Dana.
While Movie Making Campers are immersed in specialty sessions for most of the day, they also have the opportunity to interact with non-movie making camp friends during opening and closing ceremonies, as well as lunch. Our popular camp-wide activities help us to build a sense of camp community.
