Learn the tricks and techniques that go into making movies and television. Campers work as a creative team, completing an epic project inspired by the week's theme.
Whether filming outdoors or in-studio, campers learn essential techniques such as continuity, camera angles, filters and effects. Each project and its lessons are geared toward the age of the participating campers.
To make their mini-projects spectacular, stories have been fashioned like movie mad libs, but instead of missing words, there are missing scenes. This allows the campers to really concentrate on acting in their project without getting bogged down by all the post-production work a movie requires. Campers experience post production for the scenes they acted in, but the rest is waiting and ready to go.
Movie Making Camp includes three daily movie making intensives at our studios on Linden St., lunch and swim at Dana (including lessons from trained LINX Swim Instructors who implement our safe, fun-based, non-stress approach to teaching), and a bonus and a bonus film period or activity period.
While Movie Making Campers are immersed in specialty sessions for half the day, they also have the opportunity to interact with non-movie making camp friends during opening and closing ceremonies, as well as lunch. Our popular camp-wide activities help us to build a sense of camp community.
