What to Bring to Camp

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP
Please be sure to label all items and articles of clothing that are sent to camp.  Children will absolutely lose things at camp and the only way they can be returned is if their names are well marked on their belongings.  All of the items listed below are brought into and out of camp each day.

Drawstring backpack:  We recommend a labeled, light weight drawstring backpack for each camper to carry their belongings.
Backpacks should contain the following labeled items: Swimsuit, Towel, Sunscreen, Bug spray, Lunch (if not on the meal plan)... and that's it! Simple and light weight!

Water bottle
: NOT NEEDED!!! LINX has added drinking stations throughout all properties.  Counselors will supervise and monitor each camper's consumption throughout the day.

Sunblock and Bug spray:  Please apply sunscreen before arriving to camp each day.  Send your child(ren) with the following:

  1.  A labeled bottle of continuous spray sunblock.
  2.  A labeled sunscreen stick for easy face applications.
  3.  A labeled bottle of bug repellent spray.

Lunch box:  We recommend a labeled, soft-shell lunch box (nothing heavy).  The lunch box should be placed in the camper's backpack.  It will be collected at opening ceremonies.  Lunches are kept in a cool dry place, but not refrigerated.  Please do not pack perishable items.  All lunches MUST be completely nut-free!

Lunch beverage:  LINX will have water fountains available throughout lunch, but we ask that you pack a beverage (i.e. juice box) in your child's lunch.  No need for a refillable water bottle!

Towel:
One labeled towel is all you need.

Bathing Suit:
We encourage younger campers to arrive in their labeled swimsuit with their change of clothes in their bag. It is best to pack a large zip lock or plastic grocery bag for wet clothes.

Hats/Visors: We strongly recommend campers wear hats or visors (please remind your child not to share hats, towels or other belongings).

Footwear:  Closed toe shoes (sneakers) are required.  No need for water shoes - campers change at the pool area and go immediately into the pools. Keens or other closed toe sandals are okay too (not for sports camp - see below).

Medicine:  Any and all medicines must be passed through the Camp Nurse at the camp office.  Please bring medicines to the nurse at the Pre Camp Orientation or pass them through the Bus Captain or your Arrival and Dismissal Captain upon arrival to camp - you will see them everyday at your car window. Medicine must be labeled with the original prescription label.

Extended Day:
Only campers who are staying for Extended Day should pack a second labeled suit and labeled towel in a one-gallon ziploc bag for their second swim period.

Younger Campers
(3 years):  If you are worried that your camper might have an accident, you may want to have a spare set of labeled clothes (T-shirt, underwear and shorts) in a ziploc baggie that they can keep in their backpacks.  LINX Camps do not supply back-up clothes.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT (Sports Camps):
For those campers attending Flag Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, Girls Only Sports, Field Hockey, Tennis and Softball, you are required to wear all necessary protective gear in order to participate.  Please visit the links above and review the supply list ahead of time to ensure you have all the equipment you need.  Please feel free to email or call with any questions.

Items not to bring to camp:  Electronics, cell phones, money, weapons, valuables, trading cards, candy or gum.
