LEADERS IN TRAINING at LINX CAMPS
Premier Leadership Training for students entering grades 9th and 10th

LINX offers a very limited number of Counselor In Training (CIT) and Leaders in Training (LIT) positions for rising 9th through 10th graders.  These positions are for selected weeks during the summer. This program is designed for the 'best of the best' who are leaders and want a challenge.  CIT's and LIT's must be GREAT with kids, have tons of energy, be willing to work hard and like to have fun.  Candidates must apply for full weeks.


TYPICAL DAY
The CIT (rising 9th grader) and LIT (rising 10th grader) day will consist of:
  • Transportation to and from camp from one of our Bus Stops
  • Three periods working under the direction of a LINX Head Counselor in one of our junior camp groups
  • Lunch and reflection on group experience
  • Two periods of daily leadership training led by a senior member of the LINX Camps team in which CITs and LITs learn about being a counselor, taking leadership roles, dealing with difficult situations, teamwork, etc.
  • Traditional camp games and activities (i.e. rock climbing, archery, boating and more)
  • Optional swim session!
CIT's and LIT's have the option of bringing their own lunch or signing up for a weekly lunch plan from Kelly's Roast Beef.

TUITION

The LINX Leadership Training Institute costs $250/week and requires a $100 deposit. Charges will be made in full after March 1st.

FUTURE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Campers who have completed the LINX Leadership Training program (depending on experience and performance) may be eligible to apply to work at LINX Camps when entering 11th grade.  Typical applicants must be entering 12th grade or college to work at LINX Camps.  


RESPONSIBILITIES

CIT's and LIT's are not included in our published staff to camper ratios. CIT's are not responsible for the leadership, direction or discipline of the group. CIT's and LIT's are constantly in training and primarily assist with activities as needed. The CIT Coordinator is responsible for the daily assignments, supervision and leadership training of all CIT's and LIT's. 
 

APPLYING

Interested candidates must complete the short questionnaire below.  LINX will contact qualified individuals on a space available basis for a preliminary interview. Candidates are not required to submit or bring a resume to the interview but are required to provide 2 letters of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or coach.
